Best Original Composition in a Video Game (Gameplay) was won this year by composer Jon Everist for his exhilarating score on pulp adventure, ‘The Lamplighters League’.
Recorded with full orchestra at historic Abbey Road Studios Studio 1, The Lamplighters League original soundtrack is a unique and compelling mix of 90's action-film pulp with a light sprinkling of jazz noir. The music effortlessly flows between a stealthy infiltration mode where a complex music system changes the solo accompaniments depending on which character you're controlling (played by virtuoso Kristin Naigus), and explodes into a rousing larger-than-life adventure during combat sections when 'going loud' is your only option.
Jon is a multi award-winning composer for games and film, writing music for franchises such as Overwatch 2, Shadowrun and PUBG as well as Mike Bithell’s The Solitaire Conspiracy.
Looks like the industry agrees with the jury's pick…

"The Lamplighters League's gorgeously evocative art style and sultry, swinging soundtrack perfectly capturing the globetrotting, rip-roaring spirit of the classic adventure genre in its heyday."
Ars Technica
"I greatly enjoyed Jon Everist's scores for previous Harebrained Schemes games and have absolutely no complaints here."
XboxHub
"The soundtrack is amazing and once again plays as a brilliant homage to the pulp fiction action adventure journey."

"It weaves a gloriously pulpy adventure with high stakes and higher thrills, all elevated by great voice acting and rousing music throughout."
Xbox Era
“Pros: incredible music. The soundtrack is fantastic. It helps make a smaller, focused title feel like something wonderous. A long, varied, and constantly wonderful orchestral soundtrack pumps through every menu and combat encounter with a quality normally only found in the biggest budget titles.”
